As I sit here, the first copy of my new novel, Second Act, is on the way. I’m equal parts excited and afraid to finally hold it in my hand. There’s a bit of hesitation, hoping I won’t immediately spot an error I somehow missed on the thirteen passes through the manuscript. But it’s also thrilling, finally holding in my hand a story that’s lived in my head for years. Sharing it with you is a dream come true. So much of being an author is solitary and often repetitive work, just me at the kitchen table writing and rewriting until the story is as clear and true as I can make it. It’s magical to finally share it with readers, listen to you talk about my characters as if you know and love them too. If all goes as planned, Second Act will be out in the world on October 21. I can’t wait for you to read it.
Hello everyone! I don’t know about you, but I love the slow turning of a new season. Summer has been fun, but I’m ready for autumn in New York. I can already see a hint of what’s coming in some of the leaves. I’m still hard at work on the remaining details of my new novel, Second Act. It’s still too soon to have an exact publication date, but I’m hoping to have that information for you soon. The cover is done, and I’m so pleased with it. It’s always so exciting to see my vision for the cover come to life. I’ll be ready to share it with you in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for that reveal. August has come so quickly. I am busy taking my second novel through the application process. Right now, the tasks at hand are formatting, final edits, and creating the cover. I work with a wonderful team at Damonza to get these jobs done beautifully. I cannot recommend their company highly enough. It’s so much fun to see a manuscript slowly take the shape of a book. It goes from being words on my computer screen to pages I can flip through and hold in my hand. If all goes well, you’ll be able to buy this book in the next couple of months. And for today’s fun surprise, I will reveal that my new novel’s title is Second Act. Stay tuned here for more information about its publication date and book launch. Hello everyone! I’m so glad you’ve found me. I plan to use this blog space to give you monthly updates about what I’m working on now. At the moment, I’m knee deep in editing my second novel as well as putting the finishing touches on my first book of poetry. And as always, I’m busy plotting a new adventure for Lulu, my little mouse detective. I can’t wait to tell you more about these upcoming projects.
